Finally.....

....time to get caught up. We had another full weekend up here in the Roaring Fork Valley. Went up valley on Saturday and spent some time in Aspen, hoping it would be a little cooler up there. But no, not much. Oh well. Had a nice lunch though, bought a couple books, (here's DH saying hi to our friend, Monica, who introduced us to this wonderful store several years ago!)

and did some general people-watching.

I swear this policeman was in exactly the same spot the last time we visited!

On Sunday we went up to the Monastery in Snowmass. It is unbelievably peaceful up there. Here are some pix from Snowmass:

that's the Monastery snuggled way back in there....

We had breakfast at Cafe Bernard. Quite lovely and not nearly so chaotic as our usual place! Must remember this spot when Fr. Terry gets up here. We think he'll love it.

He asked me to eat the toast! But we didn't get the marmalade that the two tables near us got. :-(
And no egg sandwiches...... Dad had a trout omelette.

The photos are lovely Bella! .... The flowering trees in the fountain photo, are amazingly beautiful ... and the little 2 tone flowers look like columbines ? We can't grow them here - too hot or dry... but I've seen them in pictures somewhere.

Thanks Alice! Yes, the flowers are Columbine. The purple ones (Aquilegia caerules) are the state flower here in Colorado. I love them!

The flowers are so beautiful! I was going to ask what the were, but I see Alice already mentioned that. Makes me want to try and make them in beads. So pretty!

I bet columbine beads would be gorgeous!
