Last night's Summer of Jazz concert was Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave.
The first set was great jazz but the second set was more like a rock concert and although there were lots and lots of folks excited about this and dancing up a storm, it was a bit much for us. The people right behind us were whooping and hollering, screaming and whistling, until our nerves were shattered and we decided to head home early. Here are some scenes from the concert:
Trombone Shorty takes the stage.
Some of the crowd behind us.
Our concert neighbors celebrating a birthday.
Some friends met us for a picnic at the concert and enjoyed some Grampa-Granddaughter dancing. But after a while, bubble blowing was more fun.
As we were leaving, some folks were slacklining near the river. I think this guy had help from his guardian angel!
The moon and Venus greeted us as we walked to our car. It was overall a beautiful evening in GWS.

What a beautiful way to spend a summer evening. We had a winter storm this week - some houses lost their roofs.
Did you try slacklining mom??
