Our Adventure Begins
Our plane was to depart at 8:25 AM, so we arrived at DIA quite early. So did a lot of others!
Our flight was then delayed about an hour due to some missing bolt or something like that. I was glad we waited..... I mean, I didn't want our plane falling apart mid-air. Some families made a picnic of the wait. Before too long, though, we were on the plane eating our gorp, brought from home, and sipping diet coke while watching airplane TV. The pilot allowed everyone free TV since we had been delayed. My book was far more interesting.
A little over two hours later this is what we saw out the window.
To my delight, this was at the airport!
Didn't have to wait too long for our luggage. And may I ask this? WHY do you pay extra to bring a suitcase? Doesn't everyone take a suitcase when they travel? Anyway, picked up our rental car, complete with GPS so we won't get lost.
Didn't take too long to get to Youngest Daughter's apartment at which point she led us around town, to every nook and cranny of this big city! We travelled by foot, train, and streetcar, and by the end of the day we must certainly have covered hundreds of miles! Here are a few snapshots of Portland:
More tomorrow!
