Here's what greeted me on Wednesday when I walked into the CU Bookstore. I guess Ralphie won't be running the field at football games this fall!

I went to a bookstore yesterday to buy a couple books for a baby that will soon be born. However, the books I wanted were not available. The books, But Not the Hippopotamus and The Piggy in the Puddle, are two of my absolute favorites for little ones! But they are so difficult to find anymore. So, I am thankful that the store had two others that I just love, Miss Rumphius ("You must make the world a more beautiful place.") and Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb ("Dum ditty, dum ditty, dum, dum, dum.") I still have that last one memorized! And I am thankful for the couple who is excitedly awaiting the birth of this baby.
I remember the moon landing as if it were yesterday. Can't believe it's been forty years. How time flies."....gazing through 240,000 miles of space toward the stars and the planet from which I had come, I suddenly experienced the universe as intelligent, loving, harmonious. ... My view of our planet was a glimpse of divinity." ~ Edgar Mitchell ~

Yes folks, a new feature on Bella begins today. Thankful Thursdays. Just what am I thankful for? Lately I have tended to thinking of all things horrible, bad, unfair, and this does me (and anyone near me) NO GOOD! Every day I shall think of things for which I'm grateful and then once a week I shall report on some of these and hopefully this will eventually pull me out of the rut of despair.
This week I am thankful for a loving family, great friends and reconnecting with old friends by finally breaking down and joining Facebook.
