It's so warm here
It has been so warm here in our little part of the world that even the dogs are shedding their little jackets! I would have loved to see the dog who shed this. I'm sure she looked so cute, especially with the little fur trim around her face. But really, it's been in the 50s and 60s for a while now so I can understand why the little dog took it off. It would be completely unnecessary right now! I for one am glad that the snow is staying up at the ski areas.

Been Awhile
It's been awhile since I've updated. Lots going on around here lately. Mom got sick and because she was so weak we moved her to a rehab facility to get her strength back. Here she is showing the finches to her littlest granddaughter, who incidentally shares her name, and her daughter-in-law.
Tom and I took a walk around downtown as the weather is great and Tom's got his strength back. Here are some scenes around town today.
And then there's the photo of Barack Obama visiting the UT football office. Just who is that handsome fella in the Texas burnt orange shirt? My youngest brother, one of the football coaches. Maybe his political science degree is paying off.......is there a vice-presidency in his future????
Way to go, Bobby! Yes, change is on the way!

The Cat and the Rats in their New Running Hats
When my oldest daughter was very young, in the early 1980's, her favorite book was But Not the Hippopotamus by Sandra Boynton. I think we all still have this book committed to memory! It's the delightful story of a hippopotamus who wouldn't participate in anything until the other animals asked her to join them. (With a wonderful little surprise at the very end.) I couldn't help but think of it when said daughter's rat was on the ottoman next to our cat--minus any running hats.
